French Sandwiches

In the coffee shop, you will find a selection of delicious hand-crafted sandwiches, prepared to order to guarantee freshness and happiness. Our sandwiches come in 1/2 of our homemade baguette tradition.

Because we want you to get the best food experience, our sandwiches will never be ready-made.

The cheeses and cured meats are all A.O.P. (French P.D.O.), high quality, imported from France. You are more than welcome to taste any cheeses and meat before placing your order, so you know exactly what you are going to have.

We are pleased with the work we have done to create a Sandwich Menu that represents the best of France, reflecting what we had in our childhood and classics. What you find on the Menu is, for us, the best combination of ingredients. We recommend keeping the sandwiches as they are, but if you want to change something, we will always help and advise what would best suit your taste.

We are proud to offer probably the best sandwiches in town.

L’Italien

Here is one of our best sandwiches ever.

Made with our freshly daily homemade from scratch baguette Tradition, homemade pesto, fresh tomatoes, Mozzarelle Di Buffalla, Rocket.

You can even choose to add slow-cooked chicken (yes, we slow cook the whole chicken, but you’ll only have a few pieces of meat from it as the whole chicken doesn’t fit in the bread…we tried) for a very little extra.

Honestly, this is a must try!

Why L’Italien in a French café? Because this is from Julien’s mother’s roots.

Jambon de Pays, Emmental

Country ham and Emmental cheese.

Jambon de Pays (Country ham) and Emmental cheese from Savoie (French Alps), salad, and Olivie oil.

No need to book an expensive hotel room, flight tickets, ski gear, keeping an eye on the kids… You just have to come to Gourmand! café and order this tasty sandwich and there you are!

We could even have recreated a snowstorm with the Chantilly, but we just don’t want to clean up the mess. Plus we don’t play with food.

Le Camembert (Fribois)

Vegetarian sandwich.

Here at Gourmand, we are proud to provide you the best quality cheeses, imported from France.

This Camembert cheese, called Fribois is full of flavour.

Very tasty. So good that it doesn’t need anything else.

Along our homemade baguette Tradition, it will enjoyed all the cheese lovers.

This sandwich is simply made if French butter, Camembert Fribois and Salad.

One of our Veggie options available.

Bánh Mì

Let’s sort this out straight away, the Bánh Mì doesn’t sound or look French. And it isn’t.

It is a typical Vietnamese sandwich. I hear you: “Why do they have a Vietnamese sandwich”? Our aim is to offer popular French sandwiches. And the Bánh mì is very popular, especially in Paris’ Chinatown (13th arrondissement or as the French say: “Dans le 13ème”).

On a historical note, Bánh Mì in Vietnamese means bread, which remained in the Vietnamese food culture following French colonisation. And it is one of our favorite sandwiches, so it has to be on the Menu.

At Gourmand! the Bánh Mì is made of Char Siu pork (homemade of course), cucumber, carrots pickles (homemade as well), corriander, and mayonnaise.

Please note that this sandwich will only be available on Fridays. You can pre-order to make sure you get yours because there will be very limited availability.

Voilà :)

Le Parisien

(ou Jambon Beurre)

Ham and Butter

The best seller and the iconic sandwich in France.

Over 1.2 billion are sold every year, 51% of all the sandwiches sold in France.

Sometimes you just need a good bread, good French butter and good French roast ham to make a a simple but delicious sandwich.

Great ingredients give you a better food experience.

Le Berger ou Lo Païs*

(The shepherd or The Countryside)

One of the most uncommon sandwich on our Menu.

Made with Coppa**, Comté (Le Berger) or Roquefort (Lo Païs), Salad, fresh Tomatoes and Olive oil.

**Coppa is a cured pork meat, from Corsica, smoked with chesnutwood. It is quite powerful flavour on its own, but blended in the sandwich, it is just amazingly balanced.

*Lo Païs is an Occitan word. It means “Countryside”.

Occitan language is the old language from the South of France.

 Le Champêtre

Champêtre means from the country side's fields.

And we brought you the best of l'Auvergne.

Well part of the best, because l'Auvergne is a region that produces amazing food.

For this sandwich, we use olive oil, country ham, Cantal cheese, rocket, and fresh tomatoes.

Le Lyonnais

Lyon is the place to eat. The French food culture there is amazing. They have a typical small Bistro where you can find delicious food from the area.

What we bring you from Lyon is the cured sausage called La Rosette de Lyon. A very well seasoned cured sausage that goes very well with cornichons, French gherkins.

As usual, when the main ingredients are of good quality, you don't get anything else in it.

Actually, we only add a little bit of French butter.

Bon appétit.
